imaging and cloning is different from using a online FTP based backup service.

I agree, that if your hard drive crashes, you would need to restore from an image... However, if you subscribe to a monthly internet-based backup service - these services constantly update your files an folders on a internet server... If you Roll-back to an earlier snapshot; the internet-based service would see a new version of the same files and may think that the files have been updated, when in fact they were rolled-back.

I'm just saying that whatever backup service you use; you should be aware of how those services view your files and track versions and modifications to your files.
