Hello,
I work for a public library system with a couple hundred public computers. Right now, we run Windows XP Pro with Microsoft SteadyState and SAM user time manager. I would like to move to Windows 7 but I would also like to maintain user restrictions and rollback capability. SteadyState does not support Windows 7 so I will need an alternative to system restrictions and rollback. It looks like Horizon DataSys has a couple products that could be combined into one to provide us with the desired lockdown and rollback flexibility. Question is, which products do I need? EXE control + rollback or EXE control plus Vaccine, or...?? SteadyState was free so I would like to keep our costs down since it will be a "new" cost to the library. Thanks! |

Hi etownsend,
I suggest chatting with the CS team at Chat live with Sales & Customer Service and they should be happy to help you. Let's see if we can get some suggestions here as well. Best, Jacob |

Thanks for the advice but the Live Chat does not work and nobody answers at the tech support line.
I did call sales and spoke with someone though. I have the Drive Vaccine program running on client and server. This works pretty well. I've had no luck with the EXE lockdown program though as it needs a serial number to install. The rep I spoke with at sales thought the serial was built in or that there was a "demo" button, but neither is the case. So, I am almost there! |
