Default Option Sector-by-Sector

I just try Drive Cloner Rx.

I have read in another Threads that for restoring Rollback Rx with all snapshots it is neccessary to take a Sector-by-Sector-Image.

But in Drive Cloner Rx I donīt find this option when I backup manually and also not when I use the Scheduler.

Only when I want to restore, then I see an option to use Sector-by-Sector.

But I think itīs neccessary to use this option while generating the Image -and not during restore.

It is not only necessary to take a Sector-by-Sector image in order to capture RBRx with all of its snapshots, you must do that outside of Windows (ie., using a boot-disk)!

It sounds like you were successful in creating a DCRx boot-disk (I couldn't even get that far), so if the boot-disk allows you to make a Sector-by-Sector backup image, that is what you need to do.

No, thatīs new for me that a sector-by-sector-Image must be done outside of Windows.
True Image offers an option sector-by-sector inside Windows.

Many thanks!

I think you missed the point I was making. I wasn't suggesting that the sector-by-sector option wasn't available when running your backup image program inside Windows. I was pointing out that you must run it from outside of Windows (using a boot-disk) in order to capture the entire RBRx environment (including all snapshots).

If you doubt me, make a sector-by-sector image from within Windows; then restore it and see what happens.

Question: Drive Cloner Rx 5 Really works by default in a sector-by-sector mode inside Windows and outside of Windows ?
