Default Computer 'not shut down properly' messages

I am using the latest Drive Vaccine PC Restore Plus with Windows 7 32-bit.

When I first install it, the machine is fine. However, as soon as I save changes to the baseline with the 'Update Baseline' button, settings are saved, but every time the machine reboots, I get 'Windows was not shut down properly'. The computer then needs intervention to boot which is no good.

I tried disabling the protection for a period of time (similar to how you do it in the classic version) and re-enabling it (setting it to restore baseline on restart and not using the 'Update Baseline' button) the machine complains it is not shut down properly.

It seems like the baseline image is always saved when the computer is running. How can I get round this problem?

Thanks

I have the same issue. It doesn't happen when Drive Vaccine is disabled (but still installed), and starts happening again once DV is enabled again. Has any progress been made on this?

Default Windows update

I had a problem similar to what you are experiencing. The problem stemmed from Windows updates not being totally installed before restart. I had to disable the DV and install windows updates, then restart the computer. After reboot then I enabled DV and set the baseline.

This also caused a bad loop that I could not break, ms update would install then force a reboot, DV would reset the ms update and Windows would try to install again and so on and so forth.

hope this helps

Default FeeFee solution

I recently had a similar 'looping' at boot that prevented me from entering the desktop to either uninstall or turn Drive Vaccine off as the system kept trying to install the window updates that I had apparently set as a baseline. The SOLUTION- when the baseline wording starts on boot-push the HOME key- that will take you to a screen that says 'ADMINISTRATOR' and merely enter your DV PASSWORD (not your computer or network password)....and you'll see a screen with various choices...including uninstall. If you have volume licensing, you should contact Horizon Data Systems so as not to 'lose' that license upon reactivation of a new install.
