I am using the trial -
In restore settings, i set it to 'Disable' so i could change C drive as I want to delete a load of junk that has collected. With files now deleted Windows should be showing about 13Gb of free space, but it still showing 2Gb. What's the deal with this? What am I doing wrong? |

As you can see from the following screenshot http://www.horizondatasys.com/files/...cine_Plus4.jpg - Just next to the "Disable Restore" option there is a button to "Back-Out changes" - This feature has been implemented so that if you wanted to easily back out of the changes that you may have made to your PC (ie. you install a critical OS update and it is incompatible with some of your existing software). This is a safe guard so that you have a final option of backing out of the changes made while the PC was disabled from any restore functions. Of coarse, if you do not update your baseline the files that you had changed still exist in the original baseline. (just in case you need to back out of the changes). The way to recover the disk space would be to update your baseline and then restart your PC. However, once you update the baseline you will not be able to back-out any further. I hope this info helps you out.

Hey Guys
Thanks for your replies and help. I should have mentioned i did click 'update baseline' but still Windows did not show the increased free space. Having said that ... i dont remember if i rebooted the PC [which, thinking about it, makes sense as the new baseline won't have been applied]. I'll give that a go and see what happenes! |

English isn't my mother tongue. Please sympathize for my poor English.
Please read some brief information about Safesys virus: "The worm is called W32.SafeSys.Worm and attacks a particular program called Deep Freeze. Deepfreeze is a computer protection utility that prevents malicious code from writing to the hard drive itself. Any malicious code is written to a memory buffer which then gets erased upon reboot. The original hard drive data is untouched and can simply be reloaded during bootup. The W32.SafeSys.Worm bypasses the Deep Freeze method and writes data to the biffer, which then enables irect writing to the hard drive sectors. Thus allowing full access to the PC's hard drive." Although I have searched this forum and found that Rollback Rx could protect MBR, I still have two questions: 1. Can Safesys virus damage Rollback Rx's MBR ? 2. Does Rollback rx recover my clean system successfully after Safesys infection ? |
