Default Small GUI glitch

Note to Moderators: I post this here, because for some strange reason, i can't start topic in Rollback Rx forum, it keeps asking me to login every time i try to open new topic and putting the password only brings me to yet another login screen:

Hi, this is from EAZ Fix, but when i installed Rollback Rx earlier, the issue was the same.

Using XP with large fonts (120 dpi), some windows don't show correctly.

For example:

In particular in the second image, i suppose there is in the bottom right corner an option to "anchor" some files and there is a button? With large fonts you can only guess...

It would be nice if you could fix this for future releases.

Thanks

Fuzzfas, this is happening to you when you try and post in this forum: Disaster Recovery Programs - RollBack Rx at horizondatasys-forum.com

Can you try it now and confirm it's still happening?

Default GUI interface issue

Yes - we know about the resolution changes on PC's effect the GUI of the RollBack Rx and EAZ-FIX interface. I will let you know if this will be fixed on the next cut of RollBack / EAZ-FIX. I'll post a comment once I get more info from the development team.

As per our development team...

The problem with the GUI is due to the fact that the Rollback Rx / EAZ-FIX background is based on images; which are a fixed size.. The text are displayed in the (fixed sized) pictures. The background picture and text layout was designed based on the default scale 96 DPI. When user change the DPI to a larger font size, the effect is that it pushes the text outside of the graphics.

Currently, there is no easy fix to this issue. The development team would have to redraw all the background pictures for the larger 120 DPI or abandon the background using pictures concept.

This problem has been reported by a other users. The development team is looking at re-designing the entire user interface in version 10 using a new design to avoid this problem.

Thank you, i understand. Fortunately the most important functions aren't affected by this issue.

On a side note, i now switched to Rollback Rx. With the the latest EAZ Fix version, for mysterious reasons, after a while, i was getting "improper shutdown, check disk" message at every boot. Although everything seemed working OK.

I changed to Rollback RX version of May 2009 and i don't get such message... Although i changed my security applications setup, i find it weird. The 2 programs are supposed to be identical, aren't they? Well, Rollback works better on my PC...

For the history, XP SP3:

Ashampoo free firewall + Threatfire 4.6 + Sandboxie 3.38 + Twister antivirus + EAZ Fix 9 (latest release) = improper shutdown.

Online Armor free +Twister + Threatfire 4.6 + Rollback RX = all fine.

The security setup is the only software change between the 2 cases.
