Hi,
I will be speaking with Tech Support on Monday 5/16 early AM PDST. 1. I am an expereinced user of RBRX since 2009 when I installed Ver 9.0/9.1 in my WinXP Pro Dell then. 2. I have a Dell XPS Studio 9000, Win7 Ultimate, with all high end H/W. 3. To be safe, I did a full BU with Acronis before attempting to install RBRX V9.1. 4. The RB installation looked fine. It rebooted to complete the installation. No problems yet. 5. When done, I noticed the baseline snapshot. All seemed fine. 6. I rebooted the PC. A) I did not see the initial RB dialog flash that allows you to select a snapshot if the PC would not boot to Windows. All I saw were two text lines flash across the screen and then the PC attempted to reboot. In otherwords, SYSTEM WAS CORRUPTED and HAD I NOT HAD MY ACRONIS BU IMAGE (I cleverly created just prior to attempting to install RB), I would still be crying! I know the value of RollBack. I like the product. This PC backs up 67GB to a compressed Acronis image very quickly to 26GB and can restore it in 8 min. Still, I see value in RB. We shall see if I am # one with this configuration that HarizonDataSys has never experienced. And yes, I installed the latest build from the website (3-15-2011) and let it look for newer during the install. All I can say is a feel sorry for those who experience this w/o preparing for the worst. So, 8 min later, back to normal. OH, YOU MUST ALSO SELECT to WRITE back the MASTER BOOT RECORD (MBR) if you want to reboot an image from either Acronis or Ghost. Monday Monday ... |
