rollback visible in control panel

After installing on an XP machine I noticed that the software was visible in the program menu and in the uninstall list from control panel. The program can not be seen on my vista machine, is there a problem with the install or is XP just different?? I don't want to uninstall if I don't have to, but I don't want to leave it on there if it didn't install right, everything seems to work on it, it's taking snapshots, would appreciate any XP users thoughts.
