Hi,
Just recently when I turn on my PC the Rollback Rx icon fails to load in the systems tray. Or rather it loads, but is grayed out, and when I hover my curser over it, it disappears. This happens even after rolling back to a previous snapshot when this didn’t happen. It is possible to get the icon back by clicking on the Rollback Rx icon in its programs folder, though. But why is it not loading in the systems tray? |

Hi orian,
For reference, you can submit a ticket to support at http://support.horizondatasys.com and let's see if we can get an answer for you here as well. Best, Jacob |

Same thing happens to me - just not all the time. About once every twenty or so reboots. Like Orian says, simply click on the 'Tray Icon' in the Programs folder and the system tray icon returns.
I have Windows 7 64-bit, if it makes any difference. Using RollbackRx 20100603v91, Build 2695237646. I just submitted a ticket also. Previously, I had never gotten around to submitting one. Chuck |

This also has happened to me intermitently for many years now. While its true that all you have to do is "click on the 'Tray Icon' in the Programs folder..." i find that putting a password on my Windows logon screen eliminates the problem by allowing Windows to load in the background while pausing at the Windows logon screen. The pause is trial and error but for me i wait between 20 and 30 sec or untill i see HD activity subside alittle before i put my password in. This always results in all my icons appearing in the systray on first boot. It seems that allowing the background loading before i input my password at Windows logon "settles" my system and allows all icons to display successfully. Of coarse because much of the loading is done before Windows login, the icons appear much faster after i enter my password so this work around isnt as bad as it sounds.
I guess maybe someone from dev should look into this work around pausing effect to see why it always loads all icons successfully whereas letting your PC boot without a password seems to be a hit and miss affair? Interesting to see Dev's take on this. PS Its worth mentioning that another method is to log off and back on again. This also loads all of your icons successfully. After submitting a support ticket to solve the issue, I received no real help, and just a lot of questions.
I did receive some help on this from a Windows 7 forum. I believe they had the answer and my problem(s) seem to be resolved. The Icon Cache was apparently corrupted and needed to be deleted and refreshed. I used the following link to apparently resolve the issue: http://www.winvistaclub.com/t71.html Chuck |
