Greetings WilliamP,

Welcome to the Horizon DataSys Forum. Let's see if anyone that has experience with FDISR has any suggestions.

Best,
Jacob

To add one more relevant issue - FDISR, its development and developer support, have been discontinued.

Thank you all for the welcomes. I am looking for a program that I can count on. FDISR did save me a couple of times. How many of you folks have had to use Rollback to save the system?

A number of times...and so far it has never let me down. But remember...how ever good RB Rx is it always pays to periodically take a full image of your disk as a failsafe...and then use RB Rx as a first line of safety (with the image as the fall back).

That is (or should be) the gospel for disaster recovery - but I wouldn't let 'periodically' stretch out too far!

On my XP system I would update my FDISR snapshot about every 3rd day. On the first of the month I create a new Ghost image on a separate internal hard drive. Also I create an Archive FDISR snapshot on and internal HD.

Indeed...and I don't (I used the terms so as not to be too prescriptive). If we want to be specific I take an RB Rx snapshot every 2 hours, hold snapshots for 6 days before they are automatically consolidated/deleted and take a full image every Saturday morning, and keep up to 7 weeks of old images available.

I think that should cover it...don't you?

I am having a hard time understanding how to work with the RB Rx snapshots. With FD I am on my base snapshot and update my secondary snapshot every 3rd day. If my base gets fouled, I boot into my secondary and update my primary, which clears up the primary. Then I boot back to the primary. How do you work with RB Rx?
