Default Updating Rollback Rx

As I understand it, the process for updating is to first uninstall the old version and then install the new which seems to me to be dangerous. If you uninstall you then have to reboot and if you have a problem during that reboot there is no way to use Rollback Rx.

What am I missing here?

You are missing nothing. That is the way it is. Uninstall previous version, take the opportunity to defrag/optimise your disk (if you want) and then install the new version.

Peraonally I also have a full image of my disk available, as an insurance in case something goes wrong...but so far this has never happened since I started using RB Rx some years ago.

I am a long time user of Rollback RX. I go back to version 7. Back then I had some issues uninstalling RBRX. Ver. 9 is very stable. I also take the opportunity to clean and defrag in-between uninstall and installing a newer version of RBRX.
I have done it lots of times without issue.
All of us would like an update feature within RBRX. There are technical issues with that which has been discussed in these forums.
Accept it, do it, have fun.
