Default Rollback seems to be causing a reboot from hibernation mode

Since I installed RBRx, every once in awhile when I try to awaken from hibernation the computer does a clean boot instead of just coming out of hibernation. I've noticed this about four times in a little over a week and it's something I don't want to happen--not that much anyway. It's a pain when you just want to awaken and you have to wait several minutes for a boot.

Does anyone have this problem or know what may be going on?

Thanks

No suggestions on this? Guess I need to submit a ticket on it as it's getting annoying.

Dagrev, i also hibernate regularly but unlike you i havent had any issues.

If you are using W7 with Daz's Loader (and im not suggesting you do, I'm just trying to eliminate external sources) it is known to interfere with hibernation. Go to Daz's forum for advice on this.

Again, I'm probably way off base here but thought it was worth mentioning.

Thanks carfal for the suggestion!

I am using Win7 (x64), but am pretty sure I'm not using what you suggested. I don't remember seeing it that I know of and the name doesn't even sound familiar.

Thanks for taking the time to reply and toss out a good suggestion. It's frustrating for me as this is a laptop and hibernate is necessary instead of a clean boot most of the time.

I use sleep mode rather than hibernate, hardly ever reboot at all (isn't Win7 wonderful?).

Thanks, Owl. I'll have to use that until this gets resolved. I got into the habit of hibernating in case I forget to but the battery in before I unplug my laptop. I generally use in plugged in without the battery, and if I forget....well boot time again. Life is so complicated now. Gone are the good ole days of scratching out information on stone.

Aaarrggghhhh!!!!

Don't use your notebook without it's battery! I know you are worried about losing capacity, but really you are missing out on one of the most valuable aspects of notebooks: built-in UPS. No battery - power interruption - loss of work.

Yes, you're correct, as I don't use it for fear of shortening my battery life. When I use the battery I need it to last as my laptop is a big Toshiba. (I really don't have too many power outages.)

I'm also a little concerned about the crazy thing catching on fire. I've heard of electronics that charge doing that. That's a big concern that you can't easily recover from. Maybe this fear is unfounded on my part, so I'm open to more advice in this matter.

Thanks

I believe the problem with rebooting when coming out of hibernate has to do with devices allowed to wake the computer.

Go to device manager and pull up properties for the keyboard, mouse, and network card. Go to the Power Management tab (for each device) and uncheck the "Allow to wake computer" box (or something like that).

Thanks for the suggestion, but I'm not finding the power management tab for some reason. Using Win7(x64).
