Default Rollback Rx - Black Screen / Blinking Cursor

I have been working with support regarding this issue, but has anyone else experienced the problem of Rollback Rx showing the main screen on boot, then after taking a snap shot it just goes to Black Screen with Blinking Curso. I can provide more detials, but I have opted to remove the program due to numerous issues like this. I am convinced that the day will come when none of my 3 laptops will boot because of whatever this program is doing to them. 2 laptops are NEW running Windows 7 64 bit Professional and Home Premiump, the 3 older laptop is XP SP3 - clean build today and exact same problem occured on the first boot. Thank you for any help you may be able to offer.

Hi Shacup! I've had this happen twice on the same DELL system and it both cases it was a result of a virus (of the MBR type)... the user has a bit of a p-o-r-n addiction and he got a drive-by while on the same site both times. Only way to get by it was to restore a standard MBR record on the PRIMARY drive. When this was done, Rollback became inoperative (it will due to the MBR change) and the system was back at the baseline snapshot.

Not saying this is your problem (at least not the p-o-r-n part) but in both cases Rollback had nothing to do with it. I know this isn't helpful but it is the exact symptom.

Also, this thread on what's called a "Black Screen Workaround" may be applicable to your problem... it wasn't to mine.

Black Screen Workaround.

Good luck!
