Weird problem. Norton 360 Beta was one day from running out so I tried to uninstall and the my CD with 360 would not even initiate. Tried again the next day and started having internet problems with all browsers not working and email didn't work most of the time. The odd thing is that other things could still access the internet (weather gadgets, other software and updates. My other laptop worked just fine.)
I rolled back using RollbackRX thinking I can just go back in time before the problem and even when I went back a week or so to when I know everything was working, I still had the problem. Ran several AVs and nothing shows up. I don't get why the problem was showing up in old snapshots when it worked great. Everything was fine till I tried to uninstall 360 Beta so I'm wonder if that could be the culprit. I'm past my two times of using the beta so I don't think I can install that again, nor can I get rid of it to install my new Key for the version I bought. Any suggestions on why this happened and what's going on? Thanks! |

That is very strange. Download and run the Norton Removal Tool. My advice is to stay away from betas (except perhaps on secondary PCs) and to not rely entirely on RBRx (by creating disk-images on a regular basis)!

I was able to rollback to over a week ago (the beta still present) and use that to get things piece by piece close to being up to speed. That snapshot allowed the browser and email to work so I went with that. I was able to get rid of the beta (which was the final version).
I was about to use an Acronis Image to go with that when I found a shot that worked as a base to build on. I and some others are still perplexed as to why a problem later was present in shots that experienced zero problems. |
