Default Files Not Showing In "Recover Files"

It has happened before that when I do a rollback then try to recover files that I know were there in a snapshot, the files do not show. I rolled back to a few days ago, then tried to recover an exe file that was on my computer this morning and it does not show up.

Are there any type of files that cannot be recovered? Thanks in advance. CC

Which procedure did you use when attempting to recover the file?

Went to RECOVER FILES then SNAPSHOT of VIRTUAL DRIVES. I think I tried it by FILE LOCATION also.

Virtual Drive has always worked for me, are you sure you went to the correct location of the file in question? Perhaps a search of the virtual drive for the file you are looking for may be called for.

Ya, it should have been pretty simple. It was right on my desktop. Not a major problem tho, I have re downloaded the file but it just seems strange.

Then the other question is are you sure you had downloaded the file in the snapshot in question? ie. are you sure it existed there when you took the snapshot?

It can be easy to get confused...i know i do sometimes.

Did you create a snapshot before you rolled back but after you downloaded the file?

Yes, I did manually and I believe RBRX also does it automatically before a rollback. Thanks for the suggestion tho.

You could try rolling forward again to check that the system is as it was before you rolled back. If it's not then we're all in trouble!

Default Just rollback errr... rollforward

Any update on this CChamp?

Although of course I agree that Rx should work as expected with the Recover Files option, I don't understand why you don't just roll forward to your latest snapshot and copy your missing file onto an unprotected usb drive, then roll back again. That's one of the great things about Rx; that you can go forward as well as back.
