Default Rollback Rx's Snapshot Scavenger tool

Greetings all! Based on a recent mention of this tool in another thread, I decided to pull it out of the archives and run it on my current Rollback-based production system... just to see what it really can do.

After following the included instructions, what I experienced was utter failure. While the Scavenger was, indeed, able to see my entire snapshot history, the only one that would respond with the "mounted" msg was the current machine state... and even that one didn't provide a viewable snapshot under the available Explorer program. All the other snapshots just CLOSED the SCAVENGER when the mount was requested, also no viewable snapshots.

This is the first time I've ever used this "tool" so maybe there's a cockpit problem... but the instructions were pretty simple so that's probably not the case. The ISO I was using is dated 24Sep2007... that sounds kinda old for use with RBRX v9.1 but what do I know.

Anyway, I'lm looking for input on what my problem might be (and hoping HDS folks might chime in here) and any experience RBRX users have had in possibly using this tool... any success and if so, what tool version, stuff like that... even tool availability if successful (I'd like to replace mine if it's bad/old/outdated)

Feel free to chime in here...

Any chance of using a bigger flag, Jacob?

I'm sure many of us here are interested in the situation with Scavenger, none more so than Surush .

I also would like to put some weight behind this push.

Should i ever need the services of Snapshot Scavenger, it would be most reasuring to know that it functions as intended.

I sure hope this flag gets faster attention than the chkdsk flag Jocob raised last year (6-months later and still waiting on that one)!

Phrasing this as gently as I can, the level of support given to RBRx users on this forum by the HDS development team is very disappointing (to say the very least)!
