It occurs to me that instead of my earlier suggestion of how to have a primary defragmented snapshot, you could simply reorder the existing defragmenter.
Instead of always starting with the index and then moving down the tree from there, allow the user to reorder how snapshotting is done, or at least choose which snapshot gets defragmented first. If you choose the "primary snapshot" as the first snapshot to be defragmented, it will always get the sectors it wanted, second only to the snapshot index itself. Then you simply do a system defragment followed by a rollback defragment, and your primary snapshot is defragmented. Last edited by cwm9; 06-18-2009 at 11:23 AM. |

Version 9 build 2693945362 is pretty stable as it is; I'd rather not have too many changes made just for the sake of it.
1. More flexible scheduling options would be good, though 2. Rolling back to a given snapshot doesn't always preserve the view that given files were put in when that snapshot was made. eg if you put the contents of a folder into list view and then make a snapshot of it and then roll back a fortnight later to that snapshot I find that sometimes the files have changed to say, details view. Doesn't happen THAT often-just occasionally and is not a major problem at all. Otherwise I wouldn't like to see changes in what is otherwise a stable build. I'd like a log of all files that have been updated, created or deleted a la Goback.
I realise that this may not be possible do to the way Rollback works, but hey - this is a wish list and if I close my eyes and click my heels 3 times.... |

Thanks for most of the ideas. We have published a poll that our development team is interested in finding out which are the most important to the users. The poll is posted at http://horizondatasys-forum.com/roll...mber-23rd.html
Many of the ideas we taken from your feedback. Thanks.

As a foreign user of a software I always stumble a little over this MM/DD/YYYY-format not being used in all countries: At first glance I interpret 12/01/2009 as 12th january (instead of 1st december)...
I would prefer to make it optionally also DD/MM/YYYY (or DD-MM-YYYY or DD MMM yyyy (e.g. 12 jan 2009)) . Probably very easy to implement... |

I'd like to see a feature for auto snapshot on program install. Ie create a snapshot automatically each time msiexec starts or wise installer etc.
This way users who do are not familar with rollback will still get a clean snapshot before they install software. |
