Default Rollback and Spy Shelter don't get along

I just downloaded and installed RollBack RX and apparently it will not coexist with Spy Shelter. I was forced to uninstall Spy Shelter, reboot, then uninstall RollBack. I had really hoped that RollBack would work because I want a utility like this to save me when I have a problem.

I am running Windows 7, 64 bit Ultimate edition. I don't know if others have had this problem, but I thought I'd let everyone know about it.

Hello Johnnydough, welcome to the Horizon DataSys forum.

Thanks for the input. Let's see if anyone else has experience with RollBack Rx and Spy Shelter.

Best,
Jacob

In what way(s) did you find that they didn't get along? I don't use Spy Shelter but I've just installed the free version after installing Rollback and it 'seems' to be running ok. It initially popped up a warning about Rollback's executable (shield.exe) but I OK'd that and it hasn't thrown up any warnings since.

Just go to Black/White list and give full access to the complete Shield sub-directory, under Program Files (x86).

Dear Graham,

The free version is only for x86 systems, the paid version is both x86 and x64. I have posted for him, what to do for a x64 system.

Thanks, aladin. I don't use it but it is good to know that it can be made to play nicely .

Dear Graham,

Many thanks are due to gurus like you, Froggie (The Frog) and others for teaching me. I have been lurking here, now and then for almost a year now.

For those who have SpyShelter, after installation of Rollback, the Rollback asks for reboot.

Don't reboot. First under "Black/White" list, give full access to the complete Shield sub-directory, under Program Files (x86) for x64 systems or give full access to the complete Shield sub-directory, under Program Files for x86 systems.

Then reboot. If one fails to do the above, on reboot one will have lots of problems.

Best regards,

aladdin

Thanks for the kind words. 'Guru' is probably not the word my wife would use though .
