Default Terrible experience

After installing a just purchased copy of Rollback RX yesterday all seemed fine until I booted-up my PC this morning! On boot-up I got the error that the disk could not read anything and I should press CTRL+ALT+DEL which I did but to no avail.

I then initialized Rollback RX by pressing HOME and took the PC back to an earlier snapshot. This started Windows (x64) 7 but some of my main programs would not work including my Kaspersky anti-virus program, Mailwasher and Firefox and Thunderbird!!!

What the hell has gone wrong?

All help greatly appreciated

Greetings, Runedog! We're gona need a bit more information about your system to be able to offer even crazy suggestions

Operating system, CPU, RAM size, hard disk (HDD or SDD)... that kinda stuff. What you describe sounds pretty terrible.

Also tell us what kind of "system" apps you're running... defragmenters, security stuff... anything that may mess with system structures, etc.

Thanks for the welcome Froggie, appreciated.

Win 7 x64
SSD Drive C
i9 CPU
12Gig of RAM

Kaspersky 2011/12 Security Suite
Advanced SystemCare 4
10bit Anti-Malware

Hope that will do and I have uninstalled RBRX for the present and spent all day (UK time) getting my system (nearly) back to normal.

I appreciate your help
Graham

Also forgot to say, after I got my PC up and running again, I was told Windows was not a legit copy??? Luckily System Restore came to my rescue after I had unsucessfully tried activating again?

Thanks

Hi Aladdin,

This is a disgusting state of affairs as my version is supposed to work with SSDs too! After this issue, been told I am using a counterfit version of Win 7 x64 I too am very anoyed. Their tech support has not got back as yet and if they don't get back within 24 hours I will seek a full refund.

Well I am a patient person, and I am still waiting after 3 days.

If they come back to me that I have counterfeit versions of Win 7. then I will kick some till the kingdom come.

I am myself leaning towards refund, after suffering for the last 13 days, and abusing my computers, my SSD, my family and myself.

But, I am still waiting.

Best regards,

aladdin.

No Aladdin, I have NOT heard from their tech support yet.

It was Microsoft who said my Windows install was counterfit after RBRX messed up my system! Luckily, after I did a system restore, Windows was recognised as a legimate version again.

Yes, I had this couple of times happened to me too. Just like you said everything was messed up and had I do system restore about 30+ times on all my three computers.

I am suffering with this for the last thirteen days.

Best regards,

aladdin.
