Default Bought Rollback

Hi All, I purchased my RBRx today and have activated it. I didn't buy the Gold support which is renewed annually because I was worried that if I didn't like RBRx and uninstalled it, the annual $13 fee would be difficult to discontinue. I have had an experience in the past where an app had me on an automatic renewal and it was hard to get them to stop. If my concern is unfounded, is there a way to sign up post purchase later on? After I read the Help file instructions I'll give it a try at my first snapshot.

Hi twl845, according to the info here it looks as though the Gold support needs to be bought at the same time as the RB license. But then they go and put a link further down to buy Gold support on its own! Not sure how that works.

RB version updates are not exactly prolific so you probably wouldn't be that worse off by not having it but, if you do want it, I'd be inclined to get in touch with Customer Services as soon as possible to see if you can get it linked with your RB license purchase.

You might also ask them what the purpose of the separate purchase option is as well .

Has anybody found paid-for support worth the price?

I believe that I have. All the (few) issues I have had have (i) been dealt with swiftly...in terms of what swift means in relation to support for computer software & (ii) where appropriate I have been sent, and successfully used, a 'bespoke' version of RB Rx if the issue encountered has been due to specific circumstances re. my PC.

I am assuming that is as a result of having the Gold Support...and if it is then given the yearly price for this I personally think that it worth it.

But I may be imagining things...

I too have found it worth the money with the few issues I have had in the past. Without gold support response time is VERY slow to the point you feel its almost non-existent.

Then a good forum exchange between users is important. The members here have been very helpful to me in my short time as a member. In my travels in other forums like Wilders Securities, calling support for other software/hardware problems is rarely needed because there is always someone in the forum who has an answer. There are even occasions when I have been of some help.

Very true, the only other thing to keep in mind is the discount for upgrades that a gold membership gives you,,,,at least I think there is one,,,its been so long since an upgrade has been available I forget if I got one when I went from version 8 to 9.

Good point. I was only referring to folks who are caught without the gold membership benefits like myself. I didn't take advantage of it because I didn't know if RB was going to be good for me, and I didn't want to be set up to pay $13 per year and not use RB after all. As it turns out RB is working out great so far. You bring up another good point in whether you get a discount for renewing under the gold membership. I don't see any reference to it. Then you have to consider how often there will be a major upgrade.
