Very true! However in my case the current version cured everything beside activation. Thus, my questions to him: Just out of curiosity your HD is 1.5TB: 1. Is the above drive one partition or several partitions? 2. If several, then how big is your "System Drive" partition, on which Windows resides? 3. Do you have a separate "100MB System Reversed" hidden partition, since you have Windows 7? Imagine, trying to take an image of 1.5TB with all the data and so forth, and later on to restore this image. Best regards, aladdin. BTW, my problems with disk errors and so forth, were after uninstalling Rollback Rx, but they were direct result of Rollback Rx not being compatible with both BestCrypt and O&O DiskImage. Please read the link, I have provided. Last edited by aladdin™; 10-28-2011 at 02:06 AM. |

I gathered as such that system restore is not the problem as you have previously mentioned and fully agree with above. When I was trying Rollback Rx, I found BestCrypt and O&O DiskImage being not compatibles with Rollback Rx, and they gave me the same headaches you are getting. There might be some other program being not compatible with Rollback Rx. One way to test this is to download Wondershare Time Freeze (like Shadow Defender) and not like Wondershare Time Shuttle (a early sibling of Rollback Rx) and install the Time Freeze. On installation it gives you the programs which are not compatible with Time Freeze. I have since found out that those programs which are not compatible with Time Freeze are also not compatible with Rollback Rx. Or, you might have some other problems, not related to Rollback Rx. BTW, Time Freeze is on Free Giveaway. Best regards, aladdin. |

Disk O 1397 GB DELL Utility 39MB Recovery 14GB OS C: 1382GB Maybe you can answer a question for me as a backup noobie. Looking at my hard drive info above, would you check all 4 items to be imaged, or just the OS C: 1382GB ? Thanks

Dearest Froggie is the expert on Imaging. I have learned a lot from him, Graham, Owl, Carfal and many others on this forum. For HD failures and imaging, it is better to have the smallest partition for OS (C). For Windows 7, I would recommend about 60GB to 80GB. I have moved all My Documents, My Music, My Video .... to another partition. Best regards, aladdin. |

Hi twl845. I've been following this thread with interest and up until now i havent seen anything obvious that might be causing your problem. That is until you mentioned FDISR. I get the impression from the above quote that you've left FDISR installed when you installed Rollback. Is this in fact true? |

I don't think FDISR works on Windows 7, unless one replaces the bootsec files of Windows 7 with Windows Vista. I believe that I asked him about this, in the following thread: impact of rollnack rx uninstall And, he confirmed that he doesn't have FDISR installed in Windows 7. Quote:
