Default Saved my bacon

Hi all, Just wanted to share the fact that my new RBrx saved my bacon today for the first time. Everybody applaud! A child inserted a thumb drive with a game on it in to my computer before the computer was turned on. The computer froze as it started to boot, wouldn't boot on a second try, and after screwing around a bit it booted where upon I restored a previous snapshot. Just like advertized.

Few things beat the satisfying sound of a good snapshot!

We have all been there and can relate to your experience. Congrads, you are no longer a rollback virgin.

Great program as I am sure you will agree.

And you had such anxiety about installing and using Rx not too long ago,,,,,,could it (the program) possibly be simpler to use? I don't think so. Could it be more reliable? I doubt it and I bet you will say the same thing too in a few years.

PS: you can restore prior to booting, it is not nec for the PC to have booted into Windows for you to do a restore, just hit HOME as the Rx logo is on the screen before boot.

Yes, that would have been my next move if it didn't boot when it did. Forbidding children to approach the computer is a new rule.

That sounds like a pretty good rule

Well done on the restoration . The great thing about RB though is that you don't need to worry about the kids. If you just take a manual snapshot before letting them loose then you can simply restore it when they've finished knowing there's been no harm done .

Good idea! Normally (before I installed RB) I would start my virtual app, Shadow Defender before the little bugger started, and re-boot when they were done erasing their time on the web. On this occasion he messed me up before I even booted up. Good thing I have RB.

as long as the kids don't get into the Rx console and mess things up there. According to Murphys Law (which is right up there with the Third Law of Thermodynamics) if it can go wrong it will, soooooo

Well, you could always use the options to password protect the console or hide the icon on the systray. If that fails to keep them out then do what I did by turning it into a positive and encouraging them to do Computer Science at university .
