Hi,
Back on 1/9, when I posted this thread, I also submitted a Support Ticket concerning this problem. I had submitted at least two other tickets previously but never got any resolution. A couple of days later, I got a question from Tech Support asking if the logs I had sent were from a good, or a failed, installation. I responded they were from a good installation, as I was too concerned with recovering my data to think about copying the failed installation logs. This morning, 1/17, I received the following message: Hi, we modified the program according to the logs you provided and hopefully it fixed the problem. Whenever you get a chance, would you give it a try? Thanks. I extracted the Build they had sent and proceeded to uninstall RBRx. I did my normal cleaning, defragging and backup. Then, holding my breath, I reinstalled RBRx. All went perfectly! The installation proceeded as it should, with no BSOD's and no extra screens asking for activation. Just a plain, simple, no-problem installation. I thanked them profusely and am very happy. I always had one installation that worked that way, now my other installation appears to be "fixed". The only nagging question I have is whether I should install any new builds, or just stick with what works for me now. I think I'll just stick with what works. Thanks all for your help and advice. That's really good news, Chuck
. I wouldn't be too concerned about future updates as the fix they have provided should remain but I'd be inclined to keep a copy of the version they've supplied so that you could always go back to it. Graham |
