Hello,
I've sent the developer a service ticket in on this but thought I'd run it by the forum members as well. I recently installed Rollback Rx on my Vista SP2, x64 PC (Intel Quad processor, 8gb memory). The program seems to be working however I always receive the following error message during the boot process: "CHKVDISK Program Not Found - Skipping Autocheck". The message remains on-screen for 20 seconds or so and then my system continues to boot as normal. Just FYI, I tried uninstalling and re-installing Rollback Rx but it didn't make any difference. Any feedback on this would be appreciated. TIA, -Mike |

Have you tried EAZ-FIZ? EAZ-FIX, PC Time Machine It's a newer build version and your registration key will work in both. I use EAZ-FIZ. I seem to have less issues with it (Windows7-64). Last edited by Nick10; 02-24-2010 at 09:49 AM. |

That's an urban myth. The two software are exactly the same; same release, same build and all. HDS & EAZ are sister companies. In fact, when you click on a Service Request on the EAZ site, you will be rediredected to HDS.

As a support person, do you have any suggestions as to how I might troubleshoot/correct the problem?

Sorry but the builds are not exactly the same. They never were. They share the same engine but development has been independent. Now Horizon Data Sys supports both. Rollback RX current version is 2694553610. It came out Nov 20th, 2009. EAZ-FIX just recently released version nine one and that version is 2694615056. |

Yes, uninstall Rollback RX then install EAZ-FIX.

Yes the build differences deserves an explanation. Isnt Horizon the main developer meaning that they update their version first then pass the "improvements" down to their sister partners? This cant be right if Eaz-Fix has a later build? Whats going on? Who's the actual main (source) developer? PS Sorry mistertee for highjacking your thread... ![]() EDIT: Why does EAZ-FIX still have "Drive Image" bundled with "their" product v9.1? This seems to be better value since Horizon separated it from their version and charge you a separate amount to have it! Last edited by carfal; 02-23-2010 at 04:45 AM. |

Well, if you want to see an even better example of someone else developing a product based on the Rollback RX engine, look at Comodo Time machine (CTM). They are offering their product free. Don't try it though. It has serious flaws that can and will trash your HDD.
While Rollback RX and EAZ-FIX are not exactly the same, they are both solid products. Comodo Time machine (CTM) is a use at your own risk product. Last edited by Masterblaster; 02-24-2010 at 01:57 PM. |

There is no real difference between RollBack Rx and the EAZFIX product except for the Drive image feature. We will be removing this feature from the EAZ FIX product at the end of the month.
RollBack Rx is updated first and then we update the build for OEM and our resellers. I still do not understand how one can have success over RollBack Rx with EAZ FIX, when they are IDENTICAL products. If you do find any bugs with either product, please let us know.
