I need to back up my data online, I heard Carbonite online backup is one of the best (It backs up your stuff automatically, very good for me since I'm really lazy) However I'm afraid, that if I install it along with Rollback RX, my master boot record might get corrupted, and since I have raid on Windows 7, I'll be in a world of trouble.

If you are backing up your data online; you may run into some minor issues with RollBack Rx. Firstly, once you install Carbonite (or any online data storage) - these applications update file version changes as well. They do not know that you have RollBack Rx installed... So if you were to ROLL-BACK to an earlier snapshot and your Carbonite is still installed, Carbonite may see your "data" files as being updated; when in fact you went back in time to an older version of the files.... I hope that you get the picture? As long as you know how RollBack Rx works and how your online data backup interprets files changes, you should be okay. If this is very confusing to you; I would recommend sticking with either one solution only. It really is redundant to have both IMHO.

Is it really redundant to have both? If your HDD fails, Rollback RX will be trashed as well. If you have a backup image saved somewhere else and your HDD fails, you could restore that image to a new HDD.
2 different things to me.

imaging and cloning is different from using a online FTP based backup service.

I agree, that if your hard drive crashes, you would need to restore from an image... However, if you subscribe to a monthly internet-based backup service - these services constantly update your files an folders on a internet server... If you Roll-back to an earlier snapshot; the internet-based service would see a new version of the same files and may think that the files have been updated, when in fact they were rolled-back.

I'm just saying that whatever backup service you use; you should be aware of how those services view your files and track versions and modifications to your files.
