Default Rollback Rx - Snapshot Scavenger

I'll tell ya... as a newbie here, reading through DISGUSTED's diatribe provided a very important piece of information for me... basically his HDS support quote mentioning this li'l helper utility, Snapshot Scavenger.

After downloading the README on this jewel, I was not able to find the BartPE ISO containing it at the link specified. I then hit the web and found a copy at the end of a HDS link mentioned in a CTM forum (April 2010).

I burned the ISO and booted with it and all appeared as in the README. I fired up the SCAVENGER, selected my disk, selected my partition (I'm only protecting 1) and did the search. It found all my snapshots. I selected my baseline and asked the scavenger to EXPLORE it. At this point it''s supposed to mount the selected snapshot as a virtual drive, and the README says you can now use the included BartPE utility, "A4 System Files," to view your virtual drive and transfer any missing files you may need.

This particular BartPE ISO didn't have that utility... it had one called "A45 File Management Utility." I fired that up and it looked like an "explorer" utility... problem is, it never showed the virtual drive supposedly mounted by the Snapshot Scavenger. That's where my great experience ended.

Have any of you used this utility and if so, what might I be doing wrong?

Anybody... Nick10, Masterblaster? Any help, greatly appreciated.

This utility looks like a very useful thing to have around (I know it's not supported :-).

Hi Froggie,

I'll flag this for Nick to see if we can get some insight for you.

Best,
Jacob
